Servello Gallery was planned in part to be a destination that observes the heritage of Altoona. It also celebrates the career of painter, illustrator, sculptor, and muralist Joe Servello. Many of his paintings are in public collections. Public murals have been commissioned in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Glen Cove, NY. Servello has illustrated more than 50 books. While known for illustrating children’s books he has also worked with jacket art cover for well-known authors including Tom Clancy, Sue Grafton, Oliver North, and Janet Evanovich. The gallery now welcomes the work of local and regional artist including many Route 22 artisans.
